God's Protection

Lord God,

How grateful I am for Your constant protection over us. You never fall asleep on watch. You are never weaker than the enemy. You surround us on all sides. (Psalm 139:5) No enemy can penetrate the barrier that You put around us. You have shielded us with mercy and steadfast love and surrounded us with songs of deliverance. (Psalm 32)

You go before us to lead us to places where we can thrive and to show us the path of life. You walk close beside us so that we can hear You speak, telling us which way to go. You protect us from evils that fly over us when we hide underneath Your wings. You even support us with Your strong hand, protecting us from any evil that may be under us. On all sides and in every way, You are our strong defender.

Life, sin, and the evil one throw many darts and missiles our way. But in order to get to us, they have to go through the barrier that You provide when we walk with You. You only allow those things that will somehow bring ultimate good to us and glory to Your Name. (Romans 8:28) No matter what life throws at us, we know that You are in charge of our security and safety. We do not need to be afraid.

So thank You for Your supreme protection and control in our lives. Help us always to trust You, knowing that there is nothing that You can't handle.

In Jesus' strong name,
Amen.
